A Very Big Announcement!

September 5, 2018

When I lost my husband in 2016, I experienced firsthand how lonely grief can feel. I know how isolating caregiving can be and how devastating loss is. I learned how fast life moves forward for others, while the grieving can feel left behind. I also realized how people often struggle to know what they can do to comfort those in difficult or painful circumstances. So a few months after my husband died, I began writing about grief when I launched this blog. I try to write with honest, yet hope-filled words designed to comfort and encourage others dealing with grief because I want you to know YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

From the beginning, I knew I wanted to do more to comfort, encourage and shine hope for those feeling the way I was feeling. I wanted to take my first-hand experience with loss, and turn it into something better, something brighter, something purposeful! Ultimately, this is how my next idea was formed. I want you all to be the the first to know. Some of you have been with me from the very beginning. And some of you are new to this space, but equally important to me. So, it’s time I let you in on my big secret. Are you ready for my big announcement?? Drumroll, please…

Introducing, the Extra Grace Box!

It’s a quarterly gift box specifically designed to bring comfort, encouragement and hope to those walking through a difficult time. Whether someone is grieving the death of a loved one, facing the uncertainty of a job loss, a divorce, illness, or whatever the pain they’re encountering, the Extra Grace Box is a way to show ongoing love and support to someone hurting. I know I found the loving gestures as time passed to be so comforting! That’s why I wanted to offer something that would bless the hurting beyond the initial blow. I wanted a gift that would show support all year long. The Extra Grace Box offers one box per season. I’ll take care of remembering to mail it out, so you don’t have to!

Do you remember how life swept people forward while you still felt stuck in the thickness, the loneliness and the profound sorrow of grief? If you’ve ever had someone remember you months down the road, or if someone has acknowledged a birthday, an anniversary, a tough holiday, then you KNOW how beautiful and comforting it is to be shown that love beyond the funeral, beyond the day the divorce is final, beyond the diagnosis, etc. The Extra Grace Box is designed to help people know how to love people in times of sorrow, struggle and loss. It’s priced way less than flowers, or even the grocery bill that comes with delivering a meal! It’s my hope it’s an affordable opportunity for people who really want to do something, but just don’t know what to do. A year of Extra Grace is ideal to show support and love through every season, but if someone is not ready to commit to a year long gift, individual boxes are available for purchase as well.

Individual boxes are $40 plus tax (where applicable) & shipping

A YEAR of Extra Grace is $160 but boxes 2,3 & 4 ship FREE!

Each box is hand-packed with love and prayer, and I mean that! I may not know who the box is going to, and I may not know their specific needs, but God does! Because I understand what it feels like to be knocked down by life, I spend a lot of time carefully selecting items to brighten someone’s day and to remind them of God’s love and promises. A special note of encouragement is included in each box too.

We all know and love people fighting hard battles. So when you just don’t know what to say or do, but you really want to do something, the Extra Grace Box is a thoughtful and caring gesture for the hurting people in your life. When you purchase a year of The Extra Grace Box, I will mail a new box each season (March, June, September (October this year) and December) filled with products that will feel like a warm hug of comfort to the person you’re blessing. If you just want one box for now, that’s ok too. I’m really looking forward to being a small part in the amazing ways you’re showing God’s love to those who need it most.

You can order the Extra Grace box for yourself (I know I want one), for a friend in need of hope, or you can donate a box and I’ll work with organizations helping the hurting to get it in the hands of someone in need of comfort. It’s a Matthew 6:1 concept – given anonymously. I know when my family was going through the worst of times, the anonymous gifts from strangers felt like God wrapping His arms around my family.

I hope you’ll share this far and wide so together we can provide support, love, encouragement and hope to people who are walking through valleys of sorrow just as we have or still are. Will you help me spread this love?

Ok, soo are you ready to bless the socks off someone who needs love and encouragement?

Wishing you much success. What a thoughtful gift to offer…..keeps on going. Your heart is big. I hope you’ll talk to funeral homes and let them know about this. Someone in the industry might be able to give you advice on that.
