Merry Christmas!!

December 25, 2017

Merry Christmas, Friends! Celebrating the birth of Christ today – the promise of God with us. It’s the beginning of the sacrifice made for you…and me. It’s the extra grace in human form. It’s he reason we have assurance we will see our loved ones again.

REJOICE!!

My kids were up before the crack of dawn. So, I’m stealing a minute with my coffee and laptop to wish you all the best Christmas day today. If you’re alone, call someone or accept the invite that someone may have extended…even if you just aren’t feeling like it. I have a hunch it’s something you won’t regret once you’ve done it.

Thinking of you all today. Sending love, prayers, and EXTRA GRACE!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas Jodi and family, well this is my families first Christmas without our loved one, i have my moments but i try hard not to let my kids see me cry, they are trying to deal with the grief themselves, I have 2 sons and one doesn’t like to show emotion and the other one wears his heart on his sleeve, I do believe we will get thru this day and i am sure after they leave, I will cry but I know that’s ok, we all miss him terribly but know he is in heaven with our heavenly father and we are trying to learn to live without him, Hope you and your family have a good day, blessings to you !!

    Jodi,
I’m sitting here with just my thoughts and prayers on Christmas morning and I heard my phone chirp…it was your encouraging email/post.

Even though this is the first Christmas without my dear wife, Carol (married 34 years), I am not alone. Her home-going was July 12th this year,. My three adult children and beautiful granddaughter – and my mother-in-law are here at the house. We have so much to be thankful for, despite the very special missing person who wove us together as a family – especially at Christmas. As we prepared this year, it became painfully aware how much we all took for granted, in terms of what Carol did fit us, especially at Christmas.

Despite the crushing loss of Carol, I have a really great support system God has provided. I am in a Life Group at Luteran Church of hope. Five couples who have prayed for me and my family, were right by my side during Carol’s brief two month battle with colon cancer, and accompanied us to her interment ceremony in Grundy County.

I wish to thank you for your encouraging blog posts. It was a very special treat to hear you sing Hallelujah at the Hope Christmas Cantata last Sunday. As you were singing you looked familiar, as I had seen your photo months ago on your website. Thank you for your gripping performance of a beautiful song, with the lyrics replaced with spiritually-based words.

May you have a blessed Christmas with your children and Christian brothers and sisters.
    Grace & Peace of Christ,
    -Scott

Merry Christmas, Jodi. I hope your day is filled with lots of fun with your kids. We had our family day yesterday with the gifts and big dinner. The family leader was missing. He always loved Christmas so much. I have to think of him singing with the heavenly hosts, rejoicing about the gift of the Saviour.

Christmas Eve dinner wasn’t as bad as I thought.. It was my first Christmas in 47 years without my beloved husband, Javier. My son and I decided to spend Christmas at a restaurant with a friend. The place was crowded; and although there isn’t one single day I don’t miss my husband, I know God and him are helping me to go through this ordeal.

My second Christmas without my husband and best friend, though last year was so soon after he passed. Married 27 years, I know I’m so blessed to have had such a love, I think about him everyday and have really missed him this holiday season. Always find comfort in your posts. Merry Christmas and God Bless.
